A green circle of Bulgarian companies which are concerned about nature and environmental protection and committed to green ideas, was created in Sofia. This happened at the business forum "Green way out of the crisis: Clean nature for new economic growth", organized by "Manager" magazine and GLOBUL. The first companies that joined the green circle are GLOBUL, "Henkel Bulgaria", "VM Finance Group", "Andreev, Stoyanov & Tsekova" law office - Schönherr, "Saint Gobain Weber Bulgaria", the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, "Renault Nissan Bulgaria". Each of them undertakes specific commitments in their activities.
They all united around five values, which include: a strong economics, nature preservation, a clean environment, efficient use of resources and climate protection. The goals can be found on the Internet at http://www.manager.bg/green
"The goal is to expand this circle, to attract new companies that follow environmental policies. The more green companies there are in Bulgaria, the greener Bulgaria will be", said Maxim Mayer, editorial director of "Manager".
Some of the guests who took part in the forum were Nona Karadjova, Minister of Ecology, Etienne de Ponsin, the French Ambassador, Meglena Kuneva the former European Commissioner for Bulgaria, who is currently a member of the Management Board of the European Climate Foundation. Together with people from banks, environmental organizations and investors, they discussed the low-carbon economy, clean technologies, green production and the consumption of sustainable products and services.
A special guest at the forum was Dries Acke from the European Climate Foundation, who presented the Europe 2050 roadmap – an initiative aiming to reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions by 50%.
