Did you know that the world population currently consumes 2 planets’ worth of resources? Or that it takes 8 times as much land to produce 1000 calories of meat versus a vegetarian product?

Not many people know that the standby light of the TV that remains illuminated even when the TV is off consumes a large amount of energy on a global scale. What's more, in addition to the "green economy" there is now a “blue economy”, which includes the sustainable use of marine resources. These are just some of the interesting facts that were brought out and discussed at the "Green Culture of the Nation" forum, organized for the third time in a row by "Manager" magazine and GLOBUL.

The main participants of the most prestigious eco-event of the year were Delyan Dobrev, Minister of Economy, Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia, the sociologist Mira Radeva and heads of companies with proven practices for sustainable business development.  During the event were presented not only some curious facts, but also realistic measures which must be taken so that we can live in a greener world and preserve natural resources for future generations.

The forum was traditionally held in a special tent behind the “Earth and Man” National Museum in Sofia. A special guest at the forum was Stefano Gardi, a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the National Council of the Italian Local Network of the UN Global Compact.

An interesting accent piece which welcomed the guests was a green couch made entirely of natural Dutch forest moss. Its creator is "Green Graffiti" agency. At the very beginning of the event, Maxim Meyer, Manager, and editorial director of the “Manager” magazine, announced that the unique art installation will be donated to Sofia and its citizens as a symbol of the idea for a greener world. After the end of the forum, the green installation was transported and placed at the central entrance of the Zaimov Park.
