Today, Johnnie Walker launches the “Keep Walking” project. It challenges Bulgarians to show their support for three innovative ideas. Each of the three ideas shows a different way to use our actions to contribute to a better future. In the spirit of Johnnie Walker, the campaign builds on the perception of the power of progressive ideas through the example of the three generations of the Walker family, who used innovative thinking and managed to transform the small family business founded in 1820 into the world's No. 1 blended Scotch whiskey.
A survey conducted in our country during this summer shows that 62% of Bulgarian people believe that the experience gained during the implementation of a given project is more important than the results achieved. At the same time, 88% of people believe that united we can achieve more. Using these two statements, which outline the change in the modern understanding of success, the “Keep Walking” project will challenge the Bulgarian people to choose one of three initiatives, which will be implemented in our country in the spring of 2012.
Yavor Gardev will be the “Keep Walking” project’s ambassador as he has proved to have bold and innovative thinking. He is the first Bulgarian to join a Johnnie Walker campaign and to use his example to motivate people to participate.
The “Keep Walking” project will transform the daily walking into an expression of personal contribution to the implementation of innovative initiatives. Therefore, it challenges people to walk and donate their steps for the innovative idea that they want to be implemented in Bulgaria. This can be done using the specially developed free applications for iPhone and Facebook, which can be found at www.keepwalkingproject.com. The iPhone measures and collects each physical step taken using its built-in accelerometer, while virtual steps on Facebook are measured through a series of fun tasks. Using these apps, people can support one of the following initiatives until November 3:
The Pavegen technology project
Pavegen is an innovative installation that converts kinetic energy into electricity through interactive tiles which can be placed at any busy place in the city to turn people's steps into source of electricity. The idea of the Pavegen project is to show people the contribution they could give for alternative energy solutions for their city.
Art Project by Ze Frank
The American Ze Frank is the creator of an innovative art project which will visualize the public's voice on a provocative issue by building a huge art installation made up of people's faces and opinions.
The Hub Culture business project
The aim of the Hub Culture project is to encourage entrepreneurship. It is a seminar which will be attended by lecturers and consultants who are some of the best foreign and Bulgarian specialists in various fields. The goal of Hub Culture is that everyone who visits it and has an idea for their own business would leave with a ready-made business plan.
