The best-selling and most recognizable whiskey brand in the world has identified Bulgaria as the market with the best performance in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa over the past year.
Johnnie Walker Black Label, a luxurious blend of whiskies aged for at least 12 years, has brought an award to our country from Diageo's annual conference in Europe. The brand's parent company holds 40% of the global production of Scotch whisky, develops a total of 24 whisky brands, and operates in 132 locations worldwide. Their partner for Bulgaria is "Avendi" - a company with over 20 years of experience that has achieved leadership positions in the distribution and marketing of leading global brands.
"Avendi" received the distinction for exceptional achievements in the development of Johnnie Walker Black Label at a ceremony in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.
“I am thrilled for the Avendi team to win the prestigious Johnnie Walker Black Awards in Eastern Europe. The award goes to a partner who consistently delivers outstanding performance on the brand. We had 11 submissions this year though the results that the Avendi team has achieved putting Johnnie Walker Black on the podium as #1 in the super-premium segment were hard to match,” said Yulia Tyan, Head of Marketing, Whiskey Portfolio, Diageo Eastern Europe. Among the other nominations for the award were Hungary, Iceland, Malta, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, and others.
Black is the new black
Johnnie Walker Black Label is an iconic drink preferred by whiskey connoisseurs in the premium segment. The blend can be enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water, but also in cocktail versions, such as with soda. For this reason, Johnnie Walker Black Label has been increasingly focused on the rapidly developing cocktail culture in recent years.
Success is meant to be shared
Diageo's recognition is further confirmation that major global corporations recognize "Avendi" as their key partner. The company represents Diageo, LVMH, Proximo, Monin, Nestlé Waters, Borges, Kraft Heinz, Artsana, and other brands on the local market.
"Avendi" operates in two distribution and marketing directions - beverages and food. Some of the most popular beverage brands represented by "Avendi" in Bulgaria are Johnnie Walker, Bushmills, Smirnoff, Bailey's, Moët & Chandon, Dom Perignon, Cardhu, Veuve Clicquot, and Perrier. The food division of "Avendi" includes products for babies and children, as well as food and hygiene products - Chicco, Plasmon, Filippo Berio, Kraft Heinz, Artsana, and many others. The company also has its own brand of interactive educational toys called Twinkle Stars, specially created for Bulgarian children who "speak" in the Bulgarian language.
