In 5 years, "The Little House" has welcomed 65 children. 52 of them have already found their families. "The Little House", the first of its kind in Bulgaria, celebrated 5 years since its establishment. On June 21, 2010, the "Hope for the Children" Foundation opened the first family-type center for children up to the age of 6 without parental care. Since then, a team of specialists takes care of 65 children, gives them love and accompanies them while trying to find them a home (adoptive, foster parents or return to their biological parents). 52 of them are now living in a family environment - undoubtedly the best for them.
To celebrate its birthday "The Little House" gathered all children and their families (parents, adoptive parents, and foster parents) to be founders of the Parental Club "Parents of Hope". The aim of the initiative is to create a space for communication and mutual assistance between parents, adoptive parents and foster parents taking care of children. They will also be able to rely on the specialists and psychologists who work in "The Little House".
"The Little Houses are actually two now, but when I say The Little House, I am not referring to the building itself. I am referring to a home. The home we built for the smallest, most vulnerable creatures in our society is now 5 years old. There are now two buildings. However, love and passion remain one and only. "The Little House" was born as a concept, an idea, a common fortress of love, care and uncompromising professionalism," said Magdalena Stefanova, Executive Director of the "Hope for the Children" Foundation.
The event was honored and supported by Kalin Kamenov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, who has been among the supporters of "The Little House" ever since its foundation in his then position as Deputy Chairman of the National Agency for Child Protection. The host of the event was the actor Ivaylo Zahariev, who is also a volunteer and supporter of "The Little House". Among the guests were many friends of the "Hope for the Children" Foundation - volunteers, private donors and representatives of various companies supporting the cause.
For the second year now, "The Little Houses" receive a monthly donation - baby food from the company "Avendi", distributor of HIPP baby food, which covers the monthly needs for healthy nutrition of the children living there. The company provided decorations and gifts for the children which made the celebration even more colorful and joyful.

The main goal is to build a safe and sustainable family environment. Now, the "Hope for the Children" Foundation takes care of 14 children in two "Little houses". The foundation's team supports parents, adoptive parents, and foster parents by giving them professional advice. It also works in partnership with other organizations and institutions in the name of the children's best.
