07.11.2011 11 business leaders reached the final of "Manager of the Year 2011"
The winner will be announced on November, 14th at a ceremony at the National Opera and Ballet
11 senior business managers qualified for the finals of the national competition "Manager of 2011". This was announced today by Mr Vasil Mirchev - Chairman of the Board of Directors of VM Finance Group and publisher of “Manager". The magazine organizes the contest for the fourth time in partnership with the international consulting company "Deloitte Bulgaria". The winner will be aired after evaluation of personal and leadership qualities by a specially developed method.
The finalists in the competition are (in alphabetical order):
- Vanyo Alexiev - Manager and owner of "Global Biomet Ltd" and "Biomet" LTD
- Violina Marinova - Chairman and CEO of DSK Bank
- Dimitar Ilchev - General Manager and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of "Euromarket Group"
- Zoya Paunova - CEO of "Astra Zeneca UK Ltd"
- Iravan Hira - General Director of "Hewlett-Packard Bulgaria"
- Nikolay Mihaylov - Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Trace Group Hold" AD
- Petya Dimitrova - CEO and Member of the Board of directors of Eurobank EFG
- Snejina Kazakova - CEO of "DHL Express Bulgaria"
- Sophia Christova - CEO of pension insurance company “Allianz Bulgaria"
- Stanislav Razpopov - CEO of "Dunapack Rodina" AD
- Harris Kotsibos - CEO of GLOBUL
Facts and figures for the competition:
- This is the fourth edition of "Manager of the Year"
- So far the prize has been awarded to:
2010 - Andreas Maierhofer, CEO of "Mobiltel" AD
2009 - Prof. Lachezar Tsotsorkov, CEO of "Assarel Medet"
2008 - Mr. Valentin Trifonov, Executive Director of "Prista" EAD
- 267 executives have participated in the contest since its start in 2008
- 28 of them were foreigners
- In the first competition in 2008 only 9 of the participants were women. In 2011 their number is 20.
- Over the years, most of the participants represented the industrial sector, followed by banking, insurance and IT sectors
- The managers in the contest hold degrees from over 14 countries in Europe, Asia and North America.
